About the Recipe
Nothing completes a dessert quite like a generous dollop of homemade whipped cream. This light and airy whipped cream topping is rich, smooth, and delicately sweet, with a hint of vanilla that enhances everything it touches. Made with just a few simple ingredients, it comes together quickly and tastes far better than anything store-bought—perfect for elevating cakes, pies, hot drinks, and fresh fruit with a classic, creamy finish.

Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream or whipping cream, cold
¼ cup confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
Chill a mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes for best results.
Pour the cold heavy cream into the chilled bowl.
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the cream on medium speed until it begins to thicken.
Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract.
Increase speed to medium-high and continue whipping until soft to medium-stiff peaks form.
Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Tips
For firmer whipped cream that holds its shape longer, whip to stiff peaks but avoid overbeating.
Sweetness can be adjusted by adding more or less confectioners’ sugar to taste.
Perfect for cakes, pies, hot cocoa, fruit, or any dessert that needs a light, creamy finish.
