About the Recipe
Homemade oven-dried cinnamon apples are a delicious way to turn fresh apples into a naturally sweet, wholesome snack. Gently dried in the oven and lightly coated with cinnamon, these apple slices develop a warm flavor and chewy texture without added sugar or preservatives. Perfect for snacking, topping oatmeal, or adding to baked goods, they’re easy to make and a cozy treat you’ll want to keep on hand.

Ingredients
3–4 apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala work well)
1–2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Optional: 1–2 teaspoons sugar or maple sugar (for extra sweetness)
Optional: lemon juice (to prevent browning)
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Prepare the apples by washing, coring, and slicing them into thin, even slices (about ⅛ inch thick).
Prevent browning (optional): Lightly toss apple slices with a small amount of lemon juice.
Season the apples by placing them in a bowl and gently tossing with cinnamon and optional sugar.
Arrange the slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, making sure they do not overlap.
Bake for 2–3 hours, flipping the slices halfway through, until the apples are dried to your preferred texture (chewy or crisp).
Cool completely before removing from the baking sheet—they will continue to firm up as they cool.
