Whether you enjoy them on their own, pack them for on-the-go munching, or use them as a crunchy topping for yogurt and oatmeal, oven-dried apple chips are a delicious way to savor the flavor of apples any time of year.

Ingredients
Apples
sugar (optional)
Preparation
Preheat your oven to a low setting, between 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Wash and dry the apples.
Use a mandoline or a very sharp knife to cut them into ⅛-inch thick slices.
Coring is optional for a decorative star pattern.
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared sheets without overlapping.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, apple pie spice, or a touch of sugar if desired.
Bake for 2 to 3 hours, flipping the slices halfway through for even drying.
The chips will continue to crisp as they cool.
For maximum crunch, turn off the oven and let the chips sit inside for an additional hour with the door slightly ajar to release moisture.
