Ingredients
3 ripe Hass avocados, peeled, pitted, and diced
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro, optional
3 tablespoons finely diced onion
Few tablespoons oil, optional
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Zest of 1 lime
1 jalapeño, finely diced
2 Roma tomatoes, diced
1 clove garlic, minced, or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation
In a medium mixing bowl, scoop out the avocado pulp.
Using a fork or avocado masher, gently mash the avocados to your preferred consistency.
Add the onion, jalapeño, tomatoes, garlic, lime juice, lime zest, cilantro, salt, black pepper, and chipotle powder. Mix gently until well combined.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more lime juice, salt, or pepper to suit your preference.
Cover the guacamole by pressing plastic wrap directly onto the surface to help prevent browning. Refrigerate for up to one hour if desired.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, or your favorite dishes.
Notes
Ripe avocados are essential for creamy, flavorful guacamole. They should yield slightly when gently pressed.
Fresh lime juice provides the best flavor and helps maintain the guacamole’s bright color.
Oil is optional and can add extra richness, but traditional guacamole does not require it.
For mild guacamole, remove the seeds from the jalapeño. For extra heat, leave them in.
Guacamole is best enjoyed fresh. To store leftovers, keep air exposure to a minimum and refrigerate promptly.
