About the Recipe
If you love cannoli but don’t love the delicate filling and piping, Cracked Cannoli is the answer. Instead of carefully filling whole shells, the shells are gently broken and mixed or layered with creamy ricotta filling, chocolate chips, and citrus zest. The result is a casual, spoonable dessert that’s just as indulgent and perfect for entertaining, holidays, or an easy make-ahead treat.

Ingredients
Cannoli Cream
1 whole milk ricotta cheese (15 ounces)
16 ounces mascarpone cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoon lemon or orange zest
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 ounces chocolate chips
pinch of salt
Berries of your choice
Crumbled Cannoli Shells, Churro Chips, or Crumbled Ice Cream Cones
Preparation
Combine the ricotta mixture ingredients in a bowl and gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Layer the cannoli cream with the cracked cannoli shells and fresh berries.
Spoon the layers into mason jars, repeating until full.
Notes
Use good-quality ricotta and drain it well for the best texture.
Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly throughout the cream.
Serve immediately for crunch, or chill briefly for a softer, tiramisu-like texture.
Delicious spooned into glasses, layered like a parfait, or served family-style.
