About the Recipe
Honey soy wings are a popular dish in Asian-fusion cuisine, known for their complex sweet-umami flavor profile. The wings are characterized by their sticky, caramelized exterior, which provides a delightful texture and visual appeal. The global popularity of honey soy wings can be attributed to the harmonious combination of traditional Eastern ingredients, such as soy sauce, honey, and occasionally ginger or garlic, with Western-style preparation methods like grilling or baking. This fusion results in a dish that is accessible to a wide audience and offers a unique culinary experience that bridges cultural culinary traditions.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons gluten-free soy sauce
Honey granules
4 tablespoons Japanese BBQ sauce (save for the end)
Korean BBQ Rub Seasoning
Preparation
Coat the chicken wings generously with olive oil.
Liberally coat them with Korean BBQ Rub and soy sauce. Mix them thoroughly by hand.
Place the wings in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
Prepare your grill to a temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the chicken wings on the indirect cooking section of the grill, which is well-oiled with canola oil.
Close the grill hood and cook the wings for 40 minutes, flipping them every 20 minutes, until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once cooked, coat the wings with Honey Granules and Japanese BBQ sauce.
Place the wings back on the grill and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
At the end, you can direct grill the wings for one minute per side to achieve a slight char.
