Candied Bacon

Candied Bacon

About the Recipe

Candied bacon, also referred to as “pig candy,” “millionaire’s bacon,” or “man candy,” is a popular confectionery treat. It is prepared by coating bacon strips in a sugar mixture, typically brown sugar or maple syrup, and baking them until the sugar caramelizes into a sweet, glossy, and crunchy crust.

The delectable combination of sweet, salty, and smoky flavors, coupled with its crispy and chewy texture, renders candied bacon a versatile ingredient suitable for various culinary applications. It can be served independently as an appetizer or snack, or utilized as a topping for salads, sandwiches (particularly BLTs), burgers, or even crumbled over desserts.
